Kava Article Library

There are rare moments, I truly get to see myself from the outside.  By observing how I respond to people and situations is one amazing way to situate myself in this particular reality.  Another time is when I take a look at my creative output.  I started my first website in 1996, not to post my data to the world, but to have a single place I could put all my data.  The internet seemed like a dream come true, and the internet could be my brain in the sky.

That has evolved more than I ever imagined.

In the interim, I started building websites, mostly as a game, to see how I could get to the top of Google.  Surprisingly, in the early 2000’s, it wasn’t that difficult, because there was vastly less competition.  Now, with billions of websites, forums, social media, and near real-time posting of many millions of blog posts a day, it seems an impossibly monumental task to break through the noise, much less stay at the top of Google.

And, how can any of us feel like we can make a positive contribution to the world when 10 billion other people are wondering the same thing?

For me, it seems that Kava has a lot to do with my particular mission on this planet.  I adore Kava, and have consumed it nearly every day for almost as long as I can remember. I had a deeply spiritual experience that changed the course of my life forever.  From that, I wanted to share ancient and sacred botanicals with as many as I could.  My passion is entheogens, or “Teacher Plants” as they’re called, such as Ayahuasca, Peyote, and similar plants that help reveal the Divine within. (Despite the media claiming that they make you jump out of tall buildings for no reason.)

I bought the ailing Kona Kava Farm in the early 2000’s, and then bought Kava.com shortly thereafter since no one else had purchased it yet. (If I only knew then to buy as many .com’s as I could for $9.99!)

I’ve managed to get to the top of Google for a number of keywords related to Kava Kava.  I had no idea how that could be, as it seems I never manage to stem the flood of article ideas that bounce around my brain in any given moment.  So today, I decided to see just how many articles I’ve authored and/or edited on Kava root.

They’re not in alphabetical order, and they don’t include all my articles, as there are a number that have been published in various other formats.  It doesn’t include articles from all my websites (50+ as of this writing) either.  In my own mind, I am one of the laziest people I know.  I feel like I spend vast tracts of time watching movies or simply watching the world spin past as I struggle to find both my way and my place in this giant world. It never feels like I’m doing much of anything, and I wonder how other people manage to get so many things done in their lives, when I can’t even get all the articles on a single topic like Kava Kava that I want to get written.
